circa £25- £28k plus bonus dependant on experience**

Carville Ltd are a well-established contract manufacturer and renowned experts in CNC precision machining, bonding and finishing engineering grade plastics.

They supply global, blue-chip customers in industries including life sciences and medical devices and with solutions including fluidic manifolds and optical components.


Currently looking to expand the business development and support team with the addition of a technical sales engineer with an engineering/manufacturing background.

This is a superb opportunity for either a recent engineering graduate or someone with more experience either in a similar role, or wanting to transition into a more sales-based role from a technical or manufacturing background.


The Role:

Reporting to the Sales and Marketing Manager, you will be a key part of the business development activity.

This will include researching potential new clients, identifying key personnel, executing outbound activities to win new business, as well as working with existing clients to support and identify opportunities for growth.

You will also be dealing with incoming enquiries and answering clients' technical questions with the support of the manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams.

You will be visiting current and potential clients in the UK and abroad.


Your technical/manufacturing knowledge will be needed to interpret the clients' requirements, understand the company's capabilities, and help the team to deliver a suitable solution.

You will support the company presence at exhibitions both in the UK and abroad.


Essential Skills and Experience:


  • A technical/engineering qualification
  • Strong communication skills and professional attitude to manage client interactions
  • A methodical approach to researching industries and companies
  • Good IT skills in Outlook and Excel or equivalent
  • A very good level of English, both verbal and written
  • Some exposure to a manufacturing environment
  • An understanding of CNC Milling and Turning
  • Ability to read technical drawings and understand tolerancing

Nice to have:


  • Business to Business sales experience
  • Working with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
  • Experience in precision machining

Full training on Carville's capabilities, manufacturing techniques and unique skills will be provided as well as continuous back-up on technical issues as you develop.
