DESIGN ASSOCIATE
Job Purpose:
To lead colleagues in providing workplace design services for clients of Form Design Consultants. The role holds responsibility for leading projects and Business Development.

Responsibilities:
Projects
- Project running, resource and review for jobs of all sizes
- Agree scope of design service, fee, outline programme and resource with Managing Director/Director
- Prepare a list of deliverables, resource plan and programme to share with the team
- Carry out interim project reviews and update Project Progress log
- Provide support and guidance on the project drawing packages
- Support Directors with coordination of the project design team
Colleagues
- Demonstrate a respect for others' needs and the studio environment
- Support and challenge the team to design the most creative and practical design solutions
- Hold weekly meetings with the team to discuss workload and any other business, ensuring everyone has adequate support to achieve project deadlines
- Mentor designers and senior designers on appropriate protocols and procedures, inclusive of site visits, minutes and correspondence
- Educate and enforce company procedures and protocols alongside professional and contractual matters
- Health & Safety, Contract Administration etc.
- General support and mentoring of designers to contribute to their career development
Business
- To represent the Business professionally, in the full spirit of the Company ethos
- To participate in developing and maintaining Form office environments in line with protocols
- To support and contribute to Marketing and Business Development initiatives
- Support Managing Director/Director in preparing bids and submissions
- Update Design Management Project Trackers
- Promote and lead Form's strategic teams (one or more of Sustainability, Health & Wellbeing, Health & Safety, Technology, Accessibility & Inclusion)
- Performing other reasonable duties and/or projects as directed by line manager
Qualifications & Knowledge:
- Industry recognised diploma or degree in Interior Design
- CDM 2015 Principal Designer
Skills:
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time efficiently
- Full proficiency in AutoCADLT and drafting skills
- Computer literate in AutoCADLT, Sketchup, PhotoShop, Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Understanding of the designer's role in the coordination and integration of project information and management
- Excellent job running and project management skills
- Ability to demonstrate a good understanding of Services Design, Structural Design and other associated professions
- Excellent sketching ability hand and computer drafting
- Experienced team manager
- Ability to take initiative in providing direction and instruction
- Ability to produce and provide presentations internally and externally
- Good interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to build good relationships at all levels, internally and externally
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential information
- Flexible and open attitude towards new ways of working, and commitment to independent, lifelong learning
