You will be responsible for the day to day payroll function and supporting the monthly payroll.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POST
Main Purpose of the Job

To be responsible to the Head of Finance & Payroll for a range of payroll and pension duties

using the Academy integrated HR/Payroll system.

To monitor the flow of information to and from the payroll office ensuring that all data is

recorded accurately in order to ensure effective administration and processing.

Maintaining and operating integrated HR & Payroll System

  • To ensure all staff are paid accurately and on time and to correct errors promptly.
  • To collate and verify payroll information received from employees, including amendments to
standing data received from the Human Resource Department.

  • To ensure all additions, deletions and amendments to the payroll have been correctly prepared and
to ensure correct authorisation by appropriate head.

  • To ensure all payroll changes are processed effectively and promptly in accordance with defined
deadlines.

  • To enter data on to the payroll system and ensure proper internal validation of that data, to amend
and update the payroll files and maintain files in an appropriate order.

  • Process third party deductions in accordance with statutory regulations
  • To process claims for temporary staff and overtime.
  • To check validation reports to ensure that all changes have been correctly processed by the payroll
software provider and to ensure that all deductions are correctly calculated and paid over to the

appropriate external organisations such as HM Revenue and Customs, Pensions Provider, Trade

Unions or other external agencies.

  • To liaise with the external Payroll software provider to resolve queries and implement changes
recommended.

  • To validate BACS listings and prepare supporting documentation for making payments to
employees and other external third party payment and liaise with the Finance team in making these

payments.

  • Ensure timely monthly payments of salaries to staff according to contractual obligation and
submission of monthly returns to HMRC, Pension providers and other third party returns

  • Keep abreast of legislative changes and ability to interpret them correctly
  • To reconcile payroll monthly reports.
  • Work collaboratively with HR colleagues, providing support and advice with HR/Payroll related
matters, including integrated HR/Payroll systems.

Internal and External Contacts

  • To liaise with external agencies e.g. Teachers Pensions, LPFA and HMRC to resolve routine queries.
  • Liaise with Internal and External Auditors in providing evidence in relation to audits Finance
  • To work with the Finance team in reconciling payroll control accounts and to resolve financial
queries and discrepancies

  • Check and verify expense claims produced by finance and make payments via iTrent

General Duties:

  • To comply with the requirements of Policies and Procedures.

  • To be responsible for the Academy Performance Development Review Procedures, participating in
the Academy's staff development and training schemes and identifying and providing training and

development for staff to meet the requirements of their jobs.

  • To be responsible for the implementation of and compliance with the Academy's Health and Safety
policy.

  • To undertake any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as may be required

Payroll Administrator will be responsible for the administration of payroll in London.

This position will be responsible for the following:

  • Processes all payroll related information including employee time cards, deductions, and time off requests.
  • Processes all payroll related changes as they occur in the system.
  • Performs basic payroll analysis to identify and resolve issues relating to payroll.
  • Performs additional tasks related to payroll as needed.
  • Utilizes basic bookkeeping principles and practices to record and record accurately time records, issue paychecks, and process employee deposits.
  • Maintains accurate time and attendance records by recording all activities accurately and completing necessary paperwork.
