As the Royal Parks charity, we protect and conserve over 5,000 acres of diverse parkland, rare habitats and historic buildings and monuments in eight Royal Parks across London
These are:
Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, The Green Park, St James's Park, The Regent's Park and Primrose Hill, Greenwich Park, Richmond Park and Bushy Park.
We also manage other important public spaces including Brompton Cemetery and Victoria Tower Gardens.Our eight Royal Parks and other public spaces are among the most visited attractions in the UK with 77 million visits every year.
We are currently seeking a Digital Interpretation and Collections Officer to join us for a 12 month fixed term contract, on a full-time basis working 36 hours per week, including agile and hybrid options.

The Role:
As Digital Interpretation and Collections Officer, you will oversee the creation of innovative digital interpretation and online collections, as well as supporting physical interpretation and wayfinding projects across The Royal Parks.
Researching the history and biodiversity of The Royal Parks, you will develop accessible and inclusive digital content such as audio tours, augmented reality, digital exhibitions and videos.
Improving our visitor experience, you will enhance our physical and digital wayfinding features, allowing visitors to plan their trips and engage with interactive maps and tours.
Additionally, you will:
- Produce interpretive content for our website and social media
- Deliver interpretive content for our 'Greenwich Park Revealed' project
- Acquire, collate and digitise existing and new archive material
- Conduct a feasibility study for a publicly accessible online archive
About You:
To be considered as a Digital Interpretation and Collections Officer, you will need:
- Experience writing text or interpretation content for heritage and/or cultural organisations
- Demonstrable research experience using multiple sources
- Knowledge of best practice for handling, documenting and digitising archival material
- The ability to extract key themes or facts from large sources to produce engaging stories
- The ability to adapt tone and content to suit different audiences, including children
- The ability to use online asset management systems
- Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
