Description
This programme is open to students aged 15-17.

The Blair Partnership is a literary and entertainment agency.

Pottermore Publishing is the global, digital publisher of the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts series, as well as other audiobooks and eBooks from the Wizarding World.

Our pioneering work experience programme offers students the opportunity to step into the shoes of one of our agents for the week.

As an entirely remote programme, students from all over the UK participate in the week, gaining an unparalleled insight into the publishing industry.

At the start of the week, students are split into groups and asked to choose which of the 3 submissions they'd like to represent.

Interspersed with the webinars are periods of group work, where the students work together on making the decisions that will ultimately inform their publishing plan for their chosen book.

On the final day, students will hone their presentations ahead of going before our panel of judges to share their ideas.

Throughout the programme, each team is supported by 2 members of our staff who act as mentors, guiding the team through the week, answering questions and acting as a trial audience for their presentations.

Over the course of the week, students can expect to learn:

  • How to spot a great story and how to pitch it to a publisher
  • What contracts need to be in place
  • How the author gets paid
  • How to grow a brand beyond books
  • How to market the book
  • How to expand into digital channels
  • And so much more

This Easter our programme runs from 8th-12th April 2024 from 10am-5pm each day and will be accessible via Microsoft Teams.
