£11.95 per hour (£21,749 FTE)

Hours: 28 hours per week

Holidays: 20 pro rata (25 FTE)

BACKGROUND
Ealing and Hammersmith and Fulham Councils have commissioned Your Voice in Health &
Social Care (YVHSC) to deliver Healthwatch Ealing and Healthwatch Hammersmith & Fulham.

The role of Healthwatch is to represent and champion the health and social care needs and experiences of adults and children in the borough, ensuring that health and social care services meet the needs of residents and remain fit-for-purpose.

We do this through a series of research and engagement methods, including research projects, enter and views and face to face patient engagement in health services.


JOB SUMMARY
The Engagement and Projects Officer post is a key delivery role within Healthwatch.

The role will support our work programmes and key projects across two boroughs, ensuring the development and delivery of quality and meaningful pieces of work that have maximum impact and improve health and social care services for local people.

This role will also support on the delivery and expansion of general and targeted community outreach and engagement programmes.


They will raise awareness of the role that Healthwatch has to play, working with community groups, forums and seldom heard communities to seek feedback on health and social care services and issues, as well as informing residents of our current and previous work.

They will also use our online platforms and utilise these channels of communication so we can provide information and signposting advice to a wider audience - online and in person.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To carry out mainstream and specialised community engagement in line with each of our programme areas.
  • To analyse literature reviews, data sets, strategic plans and community and patient experience feedback to inform and provide intelligence for our future research studies.
  • To co-design and co-produce planning documentation for community engagement work and projects, including developing survey tools, questionnaires, focus group discussions, telephone and one-to-one interviews in line with research and Enter & View visits.
  • To co-host or lead focus groups, workshops and events as required in the delivery of engagement and research projects.
  • To maintain systems for collating, analysing and interpreting patient and resident feedback from engagement work, research studies and Enter & View visits, including designing relevant spreadsheets, databases, and analysis tools.
  • To support the design and writing of research reports, Enter & View reports, and presentations.
  • To build relationships with key stakeholders including commissioners and providers, statutory and community and voluntary sector partners to support successful planning, implementation and impact of engagement work, research studies and Enter & View
Visits, and resulting reports and recommendations.


  • To induct Healthwatch Ealing and Hammersmith & Fulham volunteers and interns, introducing them to our Healthwatch service, identifying the areas of our work that they are interested in and liaising with the appropriate members of staff to coordinate their work plan.
  • To liaise with colleagues across the organisation and within other local Healthwatch to share and develop good practice, with regards to engagement methods, Enter & View, and research studies.
  • To attend partnership meetings to promote our Research and Enter & View programmes, present reports and findings, and pursue impact.
  • To support both Healthwatch teams in providing information and signposting advice to residents.

  • To work with colleagues across the organisation to ensure all reports and correspondence are co-ordinated and responded to efficiently, effectively in a timely manner.
  • To contribute to team working by participating in staff meetings, away days and other events as necessary.
  • To attend supervisions and appraisals and provide written progress and work reports as required.
  • Plan and manage own workload, set targets and deadlines, and be self-supporting around administration and IT.
  • Attend training courses as agreed with, or determined by, his or her line manager.
  • Work within YVHSC's Equality & Diversity framework, taking positive action where necessary.
