If so, my client has an exciting opportunity for you

My client is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Residential Support Worker to join their team.

As a support worker, you will be responsible for providing care and support for children with challenging behaviours in a residential setting in Ashington.


Your role will involve working closely with a team of professionals to ensure the overall well-being and development of the children in your care.

You will be responsible for promoting a positive and nurturing environment, helping children to build essential life skills, and managing their challenging behaviours effectively.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing personalized care and support to children in line with their care plans
  • Developing and implementing activities to promote positive behaviour and social integration
  • Recognizing and addressing the emotional needs of each child
  • Assisting with daily routines, including personal hygiene, meal times, and leisure activities
  • Collaborating with other professionals, including psychologists, therapists, and social workers to ensure a holistic approach
  • Maintaining accurate records of daily activities, progress, and incidents
  • Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children at all times
  • Building positive relationships with both children and their families

Requirements:


  • Relevant experience working with vulnerable children, ideally in a residential setting
  • Understanding of challenging behaviours and strategies to manage them effectively
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and everchanging environment
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently
  • Patience, empathy, and understanding towards children with complex emotional needs
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and evenings

You must hold a full UK drivers licence (manual)

You need to be fully flexible to work a rota which will include long 12 to 15 hour shifts and sometime a sleep in, (£60 fixed Sleep in rate)
