About the role:


Are you a highly professional, proactive, and flexible Executive/Team Assistant looking for a fantastic new opportunity?


At National Grid we are looking for an Executive/Team Assistant to provide executive level, exemplary administrative support to our General Counsel Corporate and Deputy Company Secretary and her team of lawyers and company secretarial professionals, as well as assisting with special projects and day-to-day activities.


Working as an Executive/Team Assistant you'll use your excellent planning and organisation skills to effectively manage the General Counsel Corporate and Deputy Company Secretary's calendar, handle and direct phone calls, and plan and coordinate travel arrangements and expenses.


Showcasing your excellent co-ordination expertise, you'll support complex executive meetings with internal and external resources, attend team meetings and provide secretarial assistance.

As part of managing the team budget, you'll also be responsible for invoice processing.


Given the nature of the role, handling sensitive and confidential information while exercising professionalism and discretion is critical to success.


This is a great opportunity for someone who is highly organised, professional, and comfortable liaising with senior stakeholders, to really make a difference to the team.


The role is a full-time, permanent position (37 hours per week) and is based in our Strand Office in London.

We are offering hybrid working (approx. 3 days in the office) and can offer flexibility with working hours.


About you:


  • A successful track record in providing an efficient and comprehensive secretarial/admin service to Senior Managers, ideally in legal or company secretariat support role previously
  • Proven experience liaising with Senior Managers internally and externally.
  • Highly organised and able to prioritise workload, working efficiently under tight deadlines.
  • A good communicator with strong attention to detail.
  • Willingness to assist all team members as well as working on own initiative.
  • High level of diplomacy and ability to respect highly confidential information.
  • Proficient IT skills, particularly the Microsoft Office suite; Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Knowledge of SAP, SharePoint and Blueprint would be advantageous but not essential.
