H&S and HR Assistant
Leamington Spa
Part Time Or Full Time (salary up to £35,000; pro-rata for part time)
You would be joining a talented and ambitious engineering consultancy who collaborate with customers from some of the largest global organisations across multiple sectors.

The H&S and HR Assistant will use their knowledge and skills to promote a positive health and safety culture in the workplace, ensuring compliance with safety legislation and that safety policies and practices are adopted and adhered to.
What you will need
- NEBOSH qualification /or equivalent experience.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Patience and diplomacy to assist a collaborative approach.
- The ability to understand and analyse complex information and present it simply and accurately.
- An investigative mind.
- A flexible approach to the role and work.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- An interest in the law and the ability to understand regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Health & Safety
- Carry out risk assessments and consider how risks could be reduced.
- Outline safe operational procedures which identify and consider all relevant hazards.
- Carry out regular audits to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented.
- Ensure working practices are safe and comply with legislation.
- Develop and document internal policy.
- Lead inhouse training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks.
- Keep records of inspection findings and produce reports that suggest improvements.
- Record incidents and accidents and produce statistics for managers.
- Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all legislation and any developments that affect the employer's industry.
- Produce management reports, newsletters and bulletins.
- Ensure equipment is installed safely.
- Support and organise the safe disposal of hazardous substances, e.g. chemicals.
- Advise on a range of specialist areas, e.g. fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery and occupational diseases.
HR
- To advise on queries coming into the HR department, establishing needs, advising and or directing the employee to the right area for advice if required.
- Issue offer letters, contracts of employment and new starter packs, following up on new starter information.
- Complete reference requests.
- Organise the logistics for new starters, prepare, deliver the HR aspects of induction process.
- Coordinate the 3 / 6 month review meetings and annual appraisals.
- Administer the monthly payroll reporting to Finance (new starters, leavers, pay or employment changes, bonus and annual pay review information), ensuring relevant documentation and audit trails are in place.
- Ensure 100% compliance with Border Agency and Immigration laws.
- Carry out all filing in relation to the role and maintain up to date filing systems in line with data protection.
- Update all computer and manual records, ensuring accuracy at all times, in line with data protection policies.
- Carry out specific projects in line with business requirements and personal development.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
- To support the admin team, ensuring a smooth and consistent service to all customers.
Job Types:

Part-time hours: 37.5 per week
Salary:
Up to £35,000.00 per year
