A vacancy has arisen for a Band 3 Senior Pharmacy Assistant, within the Pharmacy Quality Assurance Department.


You willprovide support and maintain Quality Assurance functions within main pharmacy in line with procedures and current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) requirements.


You will also be expected to support the Pharmacy Quality Assurance team in ensuring that the regulatory requirements and standards set by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) are met for the Manufacturing Specials, Clinical Trials and Wholesale dealing licenses held by the Trust.


To carry out Microbiological Environmental Monitoring when required in line with schedule and non routine monitoring when required for investigations/validation.

To assist in the testing of Microbiological/chemical/physical testing of samples i.e. water, raw materials, finished products, stability samples or new deliveries of media in accordance with approved specifications.


To assist in the Microbiological testing of samples provided by internal or external customers in accordance with supplied specifications or limits.

QA checking of batches, pre-packs, packaging components & consumables, control of unlicensed medicines, CD checks as applicable.

To carry out monitoring of required temperature controlled equipment/areas and pressure differentials, and associated probe calibration.

Use of computer systems to include Microsoft Excel, Word and other relevant laboratory/Quality Risk System software

To cover across both Ipswich and Colchester sites, when needed

Maintain the Trust mandatory and statutory competency.
