Job Purpose


The Employment Engagement Coordinator (EEC) sits at the heart of the local careers hub, working closely with a team of Enterprise Coordinators to help schools and colleges improve their careers and enterprise activities and to engage with the world of work.

The EEC will ensure the Career Hub meets the ambitions of the South London Partnerships economic recovery action plan, with a focus on employer engagement and making it easier for employers to engage with schools and colleges.


Specific Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Leading on identifying businesses to join the Careers Hub Network to ensure South London Partnerships priority sector are represented, with a mix of large, SME and microorganisations that reflect the local context and who can increase employer encounters and insights for young people and help ensure ESF targets are met
  • Leading on the recruitment strategy, by working with Hub Leads and Enterprise Coordinators on the Enterprise Advisor Recruitment Strategy, with a specific focus engaging a diverse range of employers
  • Lead on the development of careers related interventions, alongside employers to provide opportunities for young people in the world of work, for example through the Give an Hour campaign and work experience
  • Lead on the monitoring and evaluation of the employer recruitment strategy and make recommendations to further drive employer recruitment where necessary
  • Lead on the strategy to develop and strengthen relationships with existing Enterprise Advisers and Cornerstone Employers, helping them to deliver impact and systemchange by understanding the local careers landscape and supporting them to target disadvantage, build sustainable relationships with schools/colleges, and improve outcomes for young people.

Knowledge:

An understanding of school culture and the challenges faced by schools in delivering careers and enterprise, and the current careers education and corporate social responsibility landscapes


An understanding of relevant local and national policy relating to skills and economic development and the issues and barriers to employment faced by young people.


Experience:

Demonstrable experience of engaging and building relationships with leaders from schools, colleges and businesses

Demonstrable experience of engaging with small and medium sized enterprise and building up close working relationships with these businesses

Experience of building up a network of individuals and businesses and developing networking events

Demonstrable experience of leading the delivery of programmes or projects with multiple stakeholders

Experience of working on a funded project, ideally ESF and has experience of evidencing outputs and targets.
