Emergency Duty Team (EDT), Family Support and Child Protection (FSCP) & Fostering and Permanence

Scale 6; £34,770 rising in annual increments to £35,862 pa LW

Full Time / Permanent

Hybrid working - 2 days per week

About the roles


The role of our Business Support Officers is to provide effective administrative and information support within the Lambeth Children Social Care and to enable efficient, accurate and comprehensive passage of information between staff and computerised systems.

As a Business Support Officer you will lead on providing support for the Emergency Duty Team or the Family Support and Child Protection team, and you will be responsible to undertake a range of systems and administrative duties within the Service.

Additionally, you will be required to use the information databases, namely Mosaic and be proficient in their use of Office 365.


Emergency Duty Team (EDT) 1 x Post


The post holder within EDT will lead on providing support for the Emergency Duty Team (EDT) and will be responsible to undertake a range of systems and administrative duties within the Service.


Although officers will work within their knowledge (specialism) areas, there will be opportunities for officers to move across different work areas.

Operationally, from time to time, officers may need to move service areas. There will always be full training for staff to ensure they are fully equipped to undertake their role.

Family Support and Child Protection Teams (FSCP) 3 x Posts


The Safeguarding Service Safeguard children, young people and adults by protecting them from abuse or neglect, getting the right support in place as early as possible and creating an environment in which they feel safe and healthy.


Each local authority has a duty to do so and Lambeth Council is committed to working with the residents and all organisations in the borough, such as the NHS, Family Doctors, Police, Fire and Ambulance Services, as well as all care providers and community organisations to achieve this.

Fostering and Permanence 2 x Posts


An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Connected Carer, SGO Assessment and Support Team, a fast paced and dynamic team that supports children, young people, families.


  • You will be responsible for the administrative functions in relation to assessing and delivering services to families including processing:
  • Request for resources (for various requests)
- sending welcome letters
- advising Special Guardians of changes to allowance (increase/decrease)

We require a skilled, experienced, and innovative Business Support Officer to help us drive forward our ambitious plans for a service that improves the outcomes for vulnerable children, young people, adults and families.

You will have the energy and commitment to rise to the challenges faced by young people in Lambeth and a belief in the potential of young people and families to achieve their aspirations.


You will need to provide a comprehensive, professional, proactive, customer focused business support service to the FSCP and EDT departments, enabling services to meet their statutory and legal obligations and our Borough Plan.
