As we continue to expand the Universal Crisis Team (UCT) in Northumberland and North Tyneside, we are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a motivated and committed individual to work as a Clinical Support Assistant.

This role would be within the Working Age Adult pathway, leading on the Physical Health pathway.


The Team forms part of an ageless service working very closely in collaboration with the younger and older persons pathways of the Universal Crisis Team with the principal objective of offering assessment and home treatment to working age adults experiencing a mental health crisis, as an alternative to hospital admission.

This role is based at St Georges Park Hospital in Morpeth. The Team covers the localities of Northumberland and North Tyneside, areas with beautiful countryside and stunning coastlines.

As part of this Team you will be encouraged to grow and develop in your role and to be involved in service development and improvement.


To assist in the delivery of care to service users who have a variety of needs, diverse presentations and a range of mental health conditions, cognitive and/or learning disabilities under the direction of a registered practitioner.

The overall responsibility for the service user remains, at all times with the registered practitioner.


To implement and evaluate care within a prescribed framework as a member of the care team ensuring that high quality, individualised care is delivered and that this promotes recovery and wellbeing and maximises independence.

To lead on and carry out duties within the internal physical health clinics, including:
Completion of Physical Health Assessments for service users,

To take part in MDT meetings as appropriate.

To have an awareness & understanding of Safeguarding.

To have an awareness & understanding of Risk management.

To actively engage with supervision and appraisal process as identified in Trust policy.

To support the team in providing excellent and effective person centred care.

To provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect and dignity.
