Private Markets - Performance Analyst

The Opportunity:


  • Working within this award winning and leading private market focused Asset Manager, you will form part of an experienced, talented and ambitious Performance Measurement team
  • My client operates a "hybrid" working model and you will expected to work from their palatial offices 2 to 3 days per week
  • Within this proactive role you will have huge exposure to the wider business, and the opportunity to service and influence key stakeholders by being a "product champion" for Performance Analytics. This will include investment teams, investor relations,marketing etc.
  • More specific responsibilities will include the periodic calculation and oversight of quarterly performance track records for my client's diverse range of products/ strategies, including Private Equity, Infrastructure, Private Debt and Real Estate investments,through primary, secondary and coinvestment opportunities
  • The team works closely with strategy specific investment teams, providing and interpreting performance numbers and manipulating data to deliver adhoc analysis
  • Respond to RFP and RFI's from external consultants and clients. Attend premeetings with the RFP / investment teams and provide input on how to respond to specific and technical questions
  • Represent the Performance team in meetings with key stakeholders and seek to contribute on project work (advanced performance analytics, systems enhancements, process automation), and provide support where required to senior members of the team on theseprojects
  • Production of customised benchmarking analysis using Private Market benchmarks and listed indices

Your Experience:


  • Have completed a relevant professional qualification (or be studying towards it). E.g., IMC, CAIA, CIPM etc.
  • Possess work experience from a financial services business that is concerned with the analysis of Private Market / Real Asset investments. Through your experience you will be able to show an understanding of relevant metrics including IRRs, PIC, DPI, TVPIetc.
  • You may have experience working for another Private Market Fund Manager, or a data, research and technology business covering private capital markets, or perhaps an Asset Manager that invests in both public market and private market investments
  • Through your experience you will have knowledge of Private Equity benchmarking methodologies
  • You will possess advanced Excel skills and be able to confidently build, navigate and manipulate complex spreadsheets, with the ability to organise and analyse large sets of complex data to produce simple and insightful solutions
  • Attention to detail is critical, along with the ability to work to tight deadlines and ensure timeframes for various deliverables are met
  • Top notch communication skills are very important. You must possess exceptional written and verbal skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely communicate performancerelated concepts to key stakeholders (up to Partner level), both within the Londonoffice and overseas
  • Possess strong organisational skills and be able to handle multiple requests at once, prioritizing key deliverables and work to ensure all stakeholders' expectations are exceeded
  • Demonstrate a strong teamworking ethic and be willing to go beyond expectations to assist other members of the team. Additionally be able to work independently and take the lead on projects alongside regular assigned duties
  • Nice to have knowledge of ESG and Climate Risk metrics
