Playschool Practitioner/KeypersonResponsible to:
Senior staff and Manager
Key areas
- To provide a stimulating and varied programme of play and learning opportunities.
- To ensure the safety and wellbeing of the children.
Duties and responsibilities
- To assist in setting up and clearing away of all activities and equipment.
- To ensure high standards of hygiene and safety are maintained at all times.
- To attend and keep abreast of current safeguarding procedures, ensuring you are aware of the reporting process for any protection or welfare concerns that arise.
- To be aware of playschool policies and procedures and adhere to them.
- To ensure that any information received concerning the children is kept confidential at all times.
- To actively encourage children's progress in all areas of development, types and stages of play, by interaction and extension of play activities.
- To work in line with the EYFS.
- To support the work and beliefs of the playschool by helping to create an environment that promotes open and equal opportunities for children and adults.
- To undertake such additional duties appropriate to the level of the post as may be required, from time to time, including some domestic duties or other duties specified by the manager.
- To work as part of a team and support colleagues.
- To be flexible with the working practices of the playschool.
- To encourage the participation and involvement of all parents of children attending the playschool.
- Qualified level 3 child care qualification is preferred.
