Description
This post is available for an adult registered nurse. The programme will commence September 2023 and end June 2024/September 2024. The post is full time fixed term/secondment contract for the duration of the specialist practice programme.

  • Applicants need current first level registration on parts 1 or 2 of the NMC register.
  • Meets the academic requirements for entry to training (minimum 120 credits at level 5 or equivalent).
  • All internal applicants must be supported by their Clinical Service Manager and submit a supporting letter prior to the interview.
  • Applicants must present an up to date professional portfolio demonstrating progression towards a SCP (District Nursing) role and evidence of reflective practice.
Interviews will be held 20th/24th/25th April 2023


  • Sound knowledge of health policy relating to the role (DN, CCN, HV or SN) (150 words)
  • Understanding the role of the SCP or SCPHN (200 words)
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills (150 words)
  • Leadership potential with evidence of the principles and values required for the role of a leader (150 words)
  • Track record of professional/trust values, behaviours and teamwork (150 words)
  • Computer literacy skills (50 words)

Undertaking a university programme at Level 6 or Level 7.

Completing all requirements of the course to be eligible to join the NMC register as a Specialist Practitioner in District Nursing

Undertaking a combination of practical and theory based learning.

Work alongside a identified assessor and supervisor whilst on placement.
