An opportunity has arisen to join our large diagnostic and interventional imaging unit as it expands to provide services as part of a tertiary referral and major trauma centre development, to support general radiology with interest in oncology imaging.

Opportunities to develop or maintain subspecialist interests will also be supported

The applicants should hold or be eligible for CCT within 6 months of interview.


Any person who is unable to work full-time for personal reasons will be eligible to be considered for the post and, if appointed, the job plan will be discussed on a personal basis in discussion with colleagues.

We support a large range of sub-specialities including neurosurgery, oncology, trauma, renal medicine and complex abdominal surgery.


We would like to invite you to be a part of our exciting personnel and equipment expansion, including state of the art CT, PETCT, SPECT CT, hybrid interventional theatre, and 3T MRI scanner suite.


You will be expected to take part in the management of the service and attend meetings of the Diagnostic Imaging Directorate, the Medical Staffing Committee and such other committees he/she may be appointed to by clinical colleagues.


Duties will include all those duties normally expected of a radiologist in a similar sized Radiology department in the United Kingdom.

The majority of the appointee's time will be spent on clinical duties. In addition the appointee will be expected to take part in the formal teaching and on-going audit programmes within the directorate as well as a full range of management duties commensurate with this role


All Consultants meet monthly for a Directorate meeting and Audit meetings, which are chaired by the Clinical Director and Clinical Governance Lead respectively.

The Medical Staffing Committee meets alternative months.
