The Role:

Commodity Insights is looking for an analyst to develop and drive our analytical service for global advanced biofuels feedstocks markets.

The position will be focused on identifying mechanisms and methods to support and develop our industry-leadingrenewable fuel analytics, providing original analytical thought on these feedstock markets, creating compelling content, and engaging with customers and potential customers.


Primary responsibilities include to:

  • Set up global supply, demand and trade estimates for waste and residues for advanced renewable fuel production
  • Support vegetable oil analytics with the view to supporting the global coverage of energy crops and Platts benchmark activity

Other Responsibilities:


  • Take a leading role in coordinating research and analytical content for advanced feedstocks availability globally
  • Maintain and further develop meaningful relationships other Platts biofuels and low carbon markets analysts, producers, traders, and users of advanced feedstocks to source market information to ensure that Platts Analytics are frontofmind
  • Ensuring the most effective and efficient handling of substantial data volumes
  • Deliver succinct, highquality written content that demonstrates the expertise outlined above, including charts, graphs and other visual content that illustrates the trends Platts' customers need to follow
  • Articulate expertise and thought leadership through a variety of media including podcasts, webinars, video, and speaking engagements

Knowledge & Skills:


  • 12 years of proven biofuels or feedstock market analytics experience. Additional experience in other markets, e.g. energy, agricultural commodities would be advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills which include a concise written style, excellent verbal skills, and the ability to communicate across a wide range of groups and personalities
  • Willingness and ability to anticipate and respond to customer needs and market changes
  • Strong presentation and data skills are required
  • Experience in modelling, forecasting and quantitative analysis would be advantageous
  • BA Degree in relevant field e.g. Economics, Business, Statistics preferred

Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only):

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $68,300 to $75,000. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
