The English, Maths and Employability team has been established at Kingston College to enable all GCSE's and Functional Skills to be taught in a single department.

We're now seeking a Team Leader - English to monitor academic staff who teach English qualifications within the team.

It will be your responsibility to ensure the quality of teaching delivered to students studying GCSE English and Functional Skills English is of the highest standard and meets the needs, standards, and requirements of all partners, including awarding bodies, employers, and higher education institutions.

We'd like our Team Leader to have excellent current teaching skills in at least one English qualification taught within the 6th form and be recognised as a good or better teacher.

You'll have experience of leading / managing A Level English, GCSE English and/or Functional Skills English and have a track record of making sustained improvements.

You will have experience of successfully monitoring and supporting 'at-risk' learners to achieve or exceed their potential and have current knowledge of impending curriculum changes and the implications for teaching and learning strategies.

Experience of managing, supporting, and developing staff is essential, as is a strong vision for the improvement and development of the curriculum area.
