Craftsman Assistant - Band 3


The Estates Department is looking for an experienced Building Maintenance Craftsperson to join their team in the day to day maintenance of the Hospital.

The post holder will be expected to deliver a high standard of work relating to estates engineering across its multiple community sites.

Our main aim is to provide and efficient and safe service to patients and stakeholders and offer excellent customer care to patients, their families and colleagues that use all our services at our multiple sites across Croydon.

Interview Date - 12th December 2023

The post holder must have a multi skilled approach to a wide range of semi-skilled work across core trade skills, and be able to undertake work in a safe and effective manner, complying with all relevant safety
legislation and procedures and complying with the Estates Health and Safety Procedures manual on all works undertaken.

A multi skilled approach will be require that crosses over between Electrical/Mechanical and Building/Construction maintenance and repairs.
The ability to work with mínimal supervision and also to work successfully as part of a team. Assist multi-skilled craftsmen across the full range of their duties and demonstrate their ability to
work in a multi-task environment. To provide cover for other Assistant Crafts Persons in cases of annual leave, sickness and
vacancies. At all times carry Trust communication devices (pagers/bleeps) to facilitate immediate response to emergencies.


Communicate with colleagues, patients and visitors in a polite and courteous manner at all times to ensure a high level of customer care.

Keep service delivery managers up to date, at all times, with engineering and building issues that will affect their service delivery.

To take direction and receipt of planned workloads from the Estates Team Leaders or Estates Maintenance Planner Coordinator (EMPC) for completion.
