Interim Disrepair Surveyor - Housing

Pay Rate:
£40.00 per hour PAYE


This opening assignment is for 2-3 months

Enhanced DBS disclosure required for this role The purpose of the role is to carry out property inspections and provide advice to social housing landlord on whether claims were genuine.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Preparing and reviewing discloser documents.
  • Responsible for carrying out surveys as part of a disrepair claims being made by tenants.
  • Good time management, working within protocol time frames, meeting all deadlines.
  • Good communication skills, collaboratively working with internal departments such as legal.
  • Preparing expert witness reports in the Scott schedule format.
  • Attend joint inspections with the tenants solicitors surveyor.
  • Putting together a specification for any works required as part of the new Fit for human habitation act 201
  • Carry out a post inspection and sign off works, keeping a photographic record.

Qualifications:


  • Must be RICS or associate RICS in Building Surveying.
  • GCSE Grade A-C (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.

Skills & Experience:


  • Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
  • Experience of working with housing providers.
  • Experienced expert witness, willing to attend court to defend claims.
  • Housing Surveyor/ Inspection Background.
  • Flexible working available.
  • Communication And Interpersonal Skills.
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).

For absolute clarity, we only work on a PAYE basis, rather than entertaining umbrella pay terms, we do not offer Ltd/umbrella or outside IR35 rates.
