Role Specifications:

To work within the philosophies of FalCare demonstrating an understanding and commitment to the rights of people with learning disabilities and people requiring care at home.
Facilitate and support clients in decision making, promoting choice and involvement.
Encourage client empowerment in line with their care plan, this may be in partnership with other professionals.

Incorporated duties include:

Ensure all medical needs are met and support the client to advocate his/her own needs and wishes.
Facilitate clients' participation in social, leisure, educational and employment opportunities within the local community in line with ordinary life principles.
Support clients to access holidays and day trips of their choice.
Interact and participate with the clients in the development of selfhelp skills, supporting clients to reach their potential for independence.
Encourage and enable clients to maintain acceptable levels of personal and environmental hygiene.
Once trained, administer medication in accordance with Company policies and procedures and ensure that medical emergencies are dealt with appropriately. Adhere to the medication policy at all times.
Record information about clients and ensure effective communication with all staff members.
Liaise with other agencies /professionals as necessary, in consultation with senior staff members.
Provide care and support as identified in care reviews and care plans, as directed by senior staff members.
Take responsibilities for running a shift in the absence of senior staff members as delegated to do so.
Assist with personal shopping where required.
Practice maximum integrity in all dealings with clients personal and financial affairs.
Night shifts that will include general domestic duties.
