About the role
As a Payments Specialist at Equals Group you will be working as part of a dedicated team to help support the international payment services that we provide to our customers.
The role will involve ensuring all customer funds are promptly and accurately reconciled and processed through the various banks and counterparties that the group works with, as well as supporting the various customer facing teams internally within the business.
About you
Responsibilities
- Reconciliation of client monies received from partner banks
- Efficient allocation of incoming funds to different client accounts and execution of outgoing payments
- Managing workflow queues to ensure transactions are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner, to meet cut off times and SLA's
- Reviewing unpaid transactions
- Handling shortfalls, overpayments and unallocated funds, in line with policy requirements
- Ensuring that processes and procedures relating to settlements are adhered to
- Working cooperatively with peers and other departments, keeping appropriate individuals informed at all times
- Conducting root cause analysis and providing ongoing recommendations / solutions to improve processes and efficiencies
- Undertaking any other reasonable duties / projects which may be required from time to time
Essential Skills
Attention to detail and an understanding of risk
Knowledge and practical experience of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
Good organisational and time management skills
Excellent telephone manner
Good communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to work as part of a team
Numeracy and literacy skills
Practical experience of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
Desirable Skills
Previous relevant experience in a payments role / financial services environment
