Description

Spencer Clarke Group are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Somerset to assist with the appointment of a
BSIP Streetworks Inspectoron a 6-month contract.

The Council has an ambitious and wide-ranging programme of Bus Service Improvements, urban regeneration, and transport improvement schemes to deliver.

Following the award of significant funding for their Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP), the Council are looking to expand its engineering design, public transport, transport planning, and sustainable transport teams to ensure successful delivery of theirambitious and exciting plans to transform sustainable and public transport in Somerset.

The projects range from a major bus priority package, first and last mile, DRT, 20mph zones, mobility hubs, EV charging infrastructure, and to developing Liveable Neighbourhood schemes.

These roles will enable the programme of 18 highway schemes, 11 TROschemes, 4 main and 8 minor transport hubs and 300 bus shelters to be coordinated.

Contract Details

Pay Scale - Inside IR35 - Negotiable

Location - Hybrid Working - Site visits will be required around Somerset

Contract Length - Minimum 6 months. Possibility of extension

Key Duties

With technical knowledge in Streetworks, Roadworks or New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) you will carry out a range of activities including coordination, monitoring, safe systems of work, compliance and giving advice on traffic managementrequirements.

Experience Needed
Accredited supervisor under NRSWA 199- Previous extensive practical experience of working within highways contract supervision, working with contractors/consultants, giving rise to a variety of technical skills and sound understanding of the standards, legal responsibilities, workpractices and processes relevant to the role, including Traffic Signals Manual chapter 8, Highway Code and Traffic Management Act 200- Experience of supervising others within the same field of work
