The Vacancy


The Apprentice Compliance Assistant will work alongside the Senior Audit and Compliance Manager and team members to support all Environmental Health and Safety and compliance aspects within the business.

The Apprentice will support the team to deliver a professional service to the business and will take personal ownership and responsibility for standards of service.

The Apprentice will also be working and studying towards a Level 3 Safety, Health and Environment Technician qualification.


Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with the coordination and planning of audits.
  • Administration of the Continual Service Improvement Plan (CSIP).
  • Assisting with activities associated with:
  • Pre-qualification of consultants/contractors.
  • Our arrangement with Constructionline and CHAS, and others, such as maintaining updates for verified consultants.
  • The approval process through consultant and contractor questionnaires.
  • Completion of desk top remote auditing and monitoring exercises. Such as checking completion of fee earner Risk Assessments, correct job to post code allocation, job file structure.
  • Assistance with:
  • The composition of company documents.
  • Policy reviews and updates.
  • Composition of processes.
  • Hollisphere updates.
  • EH&S quarterly meeting (attendance, agenda distribution, minute taking)
  • Research for legislation and best practice.
  • Assistance with the EH&S Training programme, including the H&S induction training (delivery to cover annual leave).
  • General assistance, administration, and support for the delivery of A&C activities.

Requirements:


  • GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Mathematics or equivalent accepted Level 2 Maths and English qualifications
  • Excellent communication skills, confidence and diplomacy, along with good practical knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook and MS Teams.
  • Able to work as part of a team, supporting colleagues as well as the ability to work independently, be proactive and take initiative.
  • Experience of working within a customer focused environment is desirable.
  • Be able to prioritise workload, work to tight deadlines, plan, organise and monitor several activities at the same time.
  • Diligent, and results focused with a 'no task is too small' attitude.
  • Strong interpersonal and organisational skills with the ability to thrive on providing an excellent service.
  • Utmost discretion and integrity
