Experienced Sample Garment CutterOur company By Storm Ltd has been established for 30 years.
We design and manufacture exclusive ladies special occasion wear, mainly dresses and outfits for Brides and Mothers of the Bride and Groom.
We use top quality silks, laces and tartans. Every garment is cut individually as our designs are made to measure for each client.This is an important role within our company as the success and quality of the garment relies heavily on accurate cutting.
Our present cutter has been with us for many years and is now retiring.We require a replacement who has at least 3/5 years experience in cutting and rating high end garments who has worked with expensive and delicate fabrics.
Activities include steaming fabric before cutting, laying fabric out, accurate pattern placement for best fabric rating, cutting and entering and adjusting stock on computer.
- Work closely with the Pattern Cutters
- Measure and lay out fabric accurately
- Cut out both sample and bespoke garments
- Work with a variation of fabrics for both bridal and occasion wear
- Work out costings
- Have at least 2 years' experience in a similar role
- Be able to follow instructions accurately to brief
- Have a thorough understanding of garment construction
- Be able to work as part of a team
- Have a willing, cando attitude
Salary:
From £11.20 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Glasgow: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
- garment cutting: 2 years (required)
