Brief Description:


Who are we looking for?


As Talent Solutions Consultant you will lead on a number of different talent initiatives across Network Rail and the Rail Industry, these will be in the Talent Development and Talent Mobility space.


You will be comfortable working with internal and external suppliers and stakeholders to build scalable talent solutions so will need to quickly build credibility all levels.


To be successful in this role you will have experience of designing and delivering scalable talent solutions and so will need strong project management skills/experience and the ability to use data insights to help identify and drive solutions.


About the role (External):


What does the average day look like?


The aim of this role is to provide effective business partnerships, using data analysis to measure, nationally embed and continuously improve agreed talent management programmes, working closely with business functions to identify and anticipate business critical challenges and influence service development and delivery accordingly.

You will provide effective consultation on all aspects of talent management; promoting and enabling key projects that support the national talent strategy (releasing, seeing, developing, and using talent) guided by agreed talent principles.

This includes monitoring key performance indicators aligned to your projects, leveraging management information for analysis and insights to track service delivery and manage progress against agreed plans and initiating mitigation plans where necessary to re-align local practices in line with national expectations.


You will also support the creation of talent policies as necessary, communicating/promoting cross functionally to embed consistent processes/methods against nationally agreed initiatives assigned to you.

You will undertake key projects as required to support client needs and manage delivery partners to deliver the best outcomes.

Ensuring to develop and coach Human Resources stakeholders and business leaders to build organisational capability around integrated talent management.

As well as provide transparent and purpose driven client visit planning, with priority and frequency based on risk and opportunity analysis.


What essential skills and experiences are required?

  • Educated to MCIPD or relevant degree/masters level qualification or equivalent experience
  • Significant experience in evaluating business challenges/issues before developing & embedding enterprisewide talent solutions
  • Significant experience of creating development programmes to support employee and line manager capability development
  • Operated as a successful senior HR Business Partner or Resourcing professional in large complex corporate organisations.
  • Presence, credibility and experience of working with senior stakeholders to promote enterprisewide talent solutions
  • Experience of planning and organising a broad portfolio of talent development activities
  • Can evidence the adoption of a consultative and collaborative approach in designing / embedding talent solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
