Description
The Visual Function Department is a fast-paced, interesting and exciting department within the Birmingham and Midland Eye Centre.

Our small and friendly team undertake ophthalmic electrophysiology, ophthalmic ultrasound, specialist visual field testing, colour vision testing and OCT imaging.

We are looking for a highly motivated senior medical technical officer to join our team.


This is a rare and exciting opportunity for anyone with the appropriate skills and background to work within a unique department.

The postholder will be expected to undertake ophthalmic electrophysiology, ophthalmic ultrasound, biometry, specialist visual field testing, colour vision testing and OCT imaging on patients of all ages.

The fundamental duties for this role include:
Adult and Paediatric electrophysiology

OCT examination

Ophthalmic A and B scan Ultrasound

Ultrasound Biomicroscopy

Colour vision testing

IOL master and B-scan Biometry

Humphrey and Goldmann visual field testing
