    R&D Electronic Technician

    Location: Newport, South Wales

    Estimated Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum

    Description

    We are seeking a highly skilled R&D Electronic Technician to join our specialist team in Newport, South Wales. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to develop their career and work on innovative projects.

    You will be part of a small team responsible for research and development, design, and production of cutting-edge projects. As an R&D Electronic Technician, you will work independently on projects with minimal supervision, using your technical skills and knowledge to drive innovation and success.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Work independently on projects, applying technical expertise and problem-solving skills to deliver results.
    2. Read and interpret electronic schematics, assemble, test, and repair electronic prototypes to component level, and crimp harness assemblies.
    3. Support the assembly and testing of current production products, ensuring high-quality outputs.
    4. Contribute to in-field upgrades and repairs, including foreign travel when required.
    5. Apply logical thinking and prioritize safety in all aspects of your work.
    6. Motivate and drive yourself and your team members to achieve exceptional results.

    Essential Skills

    1. Proven experience in assembling, testing, and repairing electronic prototypes to component level.
    2. Knowledge of RF (Radio frequency) principles and technologies would be advantageous.
    3. Research and development experience is desirable but not essential.
    4. Experience working with hand tools and programmable logic controllers.
    5. Demonstrated electronic knowledge and understanding.
    6. Able to work effectively with power tools.
    7. Prior experience in assembly processes and attention to detail.
    8. Certification in electrical or electronic assembly is a plus.
