**Sales Manager - Fire and Security Systems
up to £50K + Benefits

Yorkshire and North West**Howells are working with an established Fire & Security contractor operating across Yorkshire and the North West.

My client specialises in in active fire, life safety and security solutions, offering an unparalleled level of knowledge & service in this sector.


Providing services such as the design, supply, installation and commissioning for fire alarms, emergency lighting, CCTV, intruder alarms, access control, call systems, wireless systems, alarm monitoring, extinguishers and fire risk assessments supportedby ongoing preventative and reactive maintenance.


Sales Manager Responsibilities:


  • Developing, implementing and executing strategic sales plans
  • Achieving growth and sales targets both personally and by successfully managing a team of sales engineers
  • Assist the sales team in providing technical expertise and engineered solutions
  • Assist the sales team with sales enquires and assisting and completing quotations to a specification where necessary.
  • Recruitment, selection and development of the team to increase both capacity and competency
  • Assist the team to obtain, complete, win and execute tender business opportunities
  • Ensure the team work collaboratively with the service department and engineers to ensure clients receive a first class service and projected profit margins are achieved
  • Provide positive leadership and representation of the business to the public, customers, and to serving on company project teams, conducting employee meetings and visiting work areas and interacting with employees.
  • Follow up in a timely manner on quotations for the assigned customer base
  • Manage incoming enquiries through effective customer relations
  • Lead access and persuasion steps in sales process, including qualifying, relationship building, needs evaluation, solution development/presentation and closing
  • Build and maintain a working knowledge of our service offerings; participate in training/coaching opportunities
  • Produced period reports on sales performance and other sales data to the Senior Management Team

Sales Manager Experience / Qualifications:


  • Minimum 5 years experience within a similar position within intruder alarms, CCTV, door access (essential),
  • Previous experience as a field engineer beneficial
  • Knowledge/understanding of fire alarms (beneficial)
  • People management experience (sales engineers)
  • Recruitment, selection, retention and development of teams
  • Intruder alarm legislation BTEC Level 3 (Desirable)
  • CCTV Legislation BTEC Level 3 (Desirable)
  • FIA BS5839-PT1 Fundamentals in Fire Unit 1 (Desirable)
