Do you have what it takes or are you looking for a new challenge?

We have an exciting opportunity for someone with the right experience to join the MSEFT Patient safety Team. We are a small team with a real focus on the patient and staff experience.

The Head of Patient Safety will have a key role in shaping the policies and strategies for learning from incidents across divisions in MSE in order to ensure high quality, safe health care services for our patients.

As a senior member of the team you will be at the centre of this significant change to ways of working, supporting the Trust to embed a proactive safety culture and focus on system improvements that will help us deliver excellent care for our patients.

The Head of Patient Safety will provide expert advice and guidance throughout the Trust on the management of patient safety incidents.

We have recently implemented a new incident management system and are looking towards the implementation of the new Patient Safety Incident Response Framework.

You will provide expert advice and guidance throughout the Trust and lead on the Trust processes for patient safety incidents.

This will include playing a key part in meeting the requirements of the Patient Safety Strategy, transitioning to the new Patient Safety Incident Framework and acting as one of the Trust's Patient Safety Specialists.

You will play a pivotal role in supporting the divisional clinical governance teams to ensure that the Trust develops robust systems and mechanisms to ensure that it is continuously and effectively learning from patient safety incidents and risks so that practice is changed.

You will will be responsible for the effective leadership and management of the trust's patient safety team and capable of demonstrating high levels of best practice to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation.

You will be an integral support for the organisation's way of working, model its values and leadership behaviours, and champion safe, effective, and personal care.
