Warehouse Distribution Supervisor - Ashton under Lyne

Full time, permanent, day shift

The Role:


The Distribution Supervisor will be responsible for taking orders from Production, checking and preparing for despatching to our customer National Distribution Centres.

Also working within a pick and pack despatch department for a wide range of independent accounts and scheduling shipping operations to ensure all goods are despatched to customer requirements.

The role would involve administration, quality control and general despatch duties within an area that is
predominantly hands-on.

While the majority of your time would involve packing pallets and co-ordinating order completion it does involve a level of supervision of a small team.


Responsibilities Include:


  • Understanding and implementing varying goodsin procedures stipulated by National Accounts.
  • Managing the freight companies and overseeing the administration within the department.
  • Creating and producing warning/packing labels via Powerpoint.
  • Understanding the supply chain to ensure the product transports to the customer in good condition.
  • Forward planning/ordering of packaging materials.
  • Booking in with Freight Companies and National Distribution Centres.
  • To ensure all goodsin are received correctly and distributed to correct departments.
  • Loading pallets and wagons and maintaining accurate paperwork systems.
  • Offer support in running a busy packing department and maintaining a high level of quality control.

Ideal Skills / Experience:


  • Previous experience within a logistics position preferably with some degree of supervisory involvement, but not essential.
  • Strong administration skills and must be able to demonstrate a high level of thoroughness.
  • Computer literacy with MS Excel, word and Powerpoint
  • Must to be organised and assertive, able to use own initiative and be selfmotivated.
  • Preferably to have a Stacker Truck licence.

Salary:
circa £25,000 plus annual bonus
