    Description

    Job Title: Quality and Food Safety Manager

    Purpose:

    • Represent the highest standards of quality and food safety by your presence on site, reinforcing Pilgrims' commitment to excellence.
    • Manage the Technical Team, ensuring product safety and quality specifications are met through monitoring tools and processes.
    • Contribute to the development and maintenance of a positive food safety and quality culture within the site.
    • Liaise with internal departments and external customers to implement technical specifications and supporting documentation, completing key performance indicator reports.

    Reports To: Quality Systems Manager / QA Manager

    Requirements:

    • Minimum 3 years of experience in the chilled food industry.
    • Previous technical experience in FMCG food manufacturing operations.
    • Proven management capabilities in a technical, QA, or process development function.
    • Experience working with major retailers' technical representatives.
    • Familiarity with factory audits and relevant qualifications.
    • Knowledge of raw materials, meat processing, and microbiology affecting meat products.
    • Understanding of continuous improvement tools and techniques.
    • Track record in cost control, health and safety, and quality systems management.
    • Expertise in microbiological and hygiene-based management programs.
    • Familiarity with Ethical trading requirements and control systems.

    Qualifications:

    • BSc. in a food-related subject or science degree with relevant experience.
    • Food Safety Level 4 certification.
    • Lead Auditor qualification.

    Estimated Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000 per year
