Payroll Officer/ Payroll Specialist/ Weekly and Monthly Payroll/ Excellent Benefits/ Career Development/ Hybrid Working/ Free On - Site Parking
I am working on a new requirement for an experienced Payroll Officer to join my Salford based client.

This position will be responsible for the end-to-end processing of weekly and lunar payrolls and so will require full up to date knowledge of all current payroll legislation.

CIPP qualifications are highly advantageous although not essential.

Hybrid working is available (2 days WFH) in addition to free onsite parking and an excellent benefits package (including substantial industry discounts)


Responsibilities:


  • Undertaking all aspects of payroll, from inputting data, processing, HMRC and pension submissions and notifications, and payroll reconciliations.
  • Supporting the Senior Payroll Specialists by having an excellent knowledge of payroll and pension legislation, processes, and procedures.
- provide payroll related advice, guidance and support to all employees and managers across the business.

  • End to end payroll processing on a weekly/lunar basis, always ensuring compliance.
  • Reconcile third party payments and ensure payments are made on time.
  • Reconcile General Ledger accounts, working closely with the wider Finance Team to ensure accuracy.
  • Create relevant management information for the business through running reports from the SAP payroll database into Excel.
  • Ensure payroll deadlines are met.
  • Provide training to the team and other areas of the business when required.
  • To assist with the testing of new legislation or new functionality prior to it going into production.
  • Management of queries and escalations in a timely manner.
  • To ensure GDPR Compliance of Payroll data both internally and externally, reporting any issues as required
  • Continually ensure payroll processes are reviewed, updated, and implemented when required.

Requirements:


  • Full knowledge of current payroll legislation and compliance
  • Previous experience in a similar role, with full working knowledge of the endtoend payroll cycle
  • Knowledge of pensions processing
  • Previous experience of processing a highvolume payroll is highly advantageous
  • Excellent computerised system and Excel skills
  • Previous use of SAP is advantageous although not essential.
  • Ability to work to strict timeframes whilst maintaining an excellent degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a large team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A desire to progress further within a payroll career.
  • CIPP qualifications are highly advantageous although not essential.
