Graphic Packaging International is a Global FMCG manufacturer with 41 Converting sites across Europe, serving three business areas: Beverage, Convenience and Consumer Products and is the Carton Industry Leaders in Packaging Design and Innovation.


JOB PURPOSE.

  • Perform all material controller roles and cover planning roles for absences, holidays and training.
  • Proactively pursue all issues that prevent effective and efficient planning of business with a customer 1st bias.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Order raw materials (WLC board, windows, APET) in accordance with demand using Avante MRP
  • Place daily call offs for raw materials with suppliers.
  • Resolve and approve and invoice queries.
  • Group material transfers; order relevant materials
  • Source and order material sample requests
  • Implement board grade changes, inform the relevant depts.
  • Order GPI reels & placing sheeting orders for GPI board.
  • Liaise with suppliers on all issues that affect supply of raw materials.
  • Work to find alternate materials where appropriate; Materials Enquiry Form.
  • Delivery note checking
  • Analyse the late board report, publish results to customer services
  • Set up new item codes onto Avante system
  • Work closely with Sales and Production Departments to ensure customer deadlines are met using APS planning software when appropriate to do so, proactively reporting all issues to appropriate contacts with in the business.
  • Alter Avante system to reflect dates and timings of material supply.
  • Report weekly/monthly KPI
  • Systems Housekeeping
  • Work occasional weekends, primarily during peak periods and Customer Launch cycles.
  • Cover for absences and holidays (Planning role and Snr Materials)
  • Help with training requirements with in business.
  • Develop a close working relationship with team in department.

SKILLS/QUALS

  • High standard of Microsoft Excel skills required.
  • Good general level of education, preferably to Diploma/NVQ IV level.
  • Experience with Purchasing and MRP preferred, but not essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Some Planning experience preferred, but not essential.
  • Previous experience of Print/Packaging preferred, but not essential.

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS

  • Reliable and flexible with strong work ethic.
  • Able to effectively prioritise and adapt to variable workload.
  • Punctual, presentable and with good attendance.
  • Will be working in very fast paced environment so you must be experienced in dealing with pressure and be highly organised with an ability to multitask and manage ones own time.
  • Proactive and can do attitude required.
