Main Purpose of the Job:

The Head of Data Science plays a vital in the business' decision making and the monetisation of the company's core networking and data products.

Working with stakeholders across the organisation, the Head of Data Science will identify a roadmap of opportunities where data and advanced analytics can add value and will work with other Data and Analytics teams towards implementation.

The Head of Data Science will manage the data supply chain, identifying new and managing existing relationships with vendors.

Continuously evaluate the value of 3rd party data against Dense Air's business cases, seeking out areas for improvement, either through new vendor relationships or experimenting with creating new assets.

The Head of Data Science will lead data and analytics innovation and play a key role in educating the business in the benefits derived from data science.

Ensuring the data science function has the skills, knowledge, experience and capacity is a key component of the role and the Head of Data science will be responsible for talent acquisition, management and retention, implementing data science career frameworks and training roadmaps.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspire, lead and manage a team of data scientists and data analysts.

Working with other senior managers ensure their plans are supported by data and develop and manage the Data Science roadmap, promoting internally to the business data products built by the team.

Responsible for the the data budget identifying opportunities, developing business cases and managing 3rd party relationships.

Ensure the Data Science function has the capability to delivery business goals by attracting, training and retaining talent.

Mentor team members in best practice and ensuring the team work collaboratively with the wider Data and Analytics group and across all Dense Air.

Develop Dense Air's data and analytics acumen, helping senior management identify opportunities to use data science to support their plans and add value to their functions.

Pro-actively seek new and innovative methods of leveraging data and drive these through into the Data and Analytics products, ensuring stakeholders are bought in all the way through the journey.

Education and Experience:

• 7+ years working within the field of advanced analytics or data science.
• 3+ years managing multiple data and analytics teams.
• Experience of working with data relating to a mobile network preferable.
• Experience of working with contemporary databasing, data science and GIS tools vital.
• Technical degree preferable.

• Able to present information in a clear and concise way to peers and managers.
• Good stakeholder and team management relationship and influencing skills.
