Are you passionate about education and committed to making a positive impact in the lives of young learners? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic General Class Teaching Assistant to join our team in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.
This role involves providing support in the mornings for Year 2 and in the afternoons for Year 5, ensuring a stimulating and nurturing learning environment for our students.
This role is to startASAP until Summer.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons in accordance with the school's curriculum.
- Work closely with the teacher to plan and prepare learning materials and resources.
- Provide oneonone or small group support to students who may require additional assistance.
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to both students and teachers.
- Support classroom management and behavior management strategies.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.
- Encourage independent learning and foster a love for learning in students.
- Collaborate with colleagues and parents to ensure the holistic development of each student.
- Contribute to the school's extracurricular activities and events as required.
Requirements:
- Relevant experience working with children in an educational setting, ideally in Key Stage 1 (Year 2) and Key Stage 2 (Year 5).
- A strong understanding of the national curriculum and ageappropriate teaching methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, teachers, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Proactive and adaptable nature, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, Teaching Assistant qualifications, or equivalent would be advantageous.
Working Hours:
- Monday to Friday, mornings for Year 2 (8:30 am to 12:00 pm) and afternoons for Year 5 (12:30 pm to 3:30 pm).
