AP's/Producer for Weekend

Virgin Radio UK is the home of Chris Evans at breakfast, has just a new weekend line up with Angela Scanlon,Leigh Francis, Tom Alllen and Dick and Dom and we're looking for AP's/Producers to join the weekend team.


Other stations in the network include Virgin Radio Anthems, playing Classic Tracks; Virgin Radio Chilled, with music to kick back to; Virgin Radio 80s Plus playing the best 80s music and the summer pop-up station, Virgin Radio Pride for the LGBTQI+ community.


Your Role:
We are currently seeking passionate and talented Assistant Producers (APs)/Weekend Producers to join our team. This role is perfect for individuals who are enthusiastic about radio production, music, and creating compelling content.

As an AP/Weekend Producer at Virgin Radio, you will play a pivotal role in assisting with show preparation, managing on-air content, and ensuring smooth operations during weekend broadcasts.


Day to day you will:


  • Assist in the preparation and execution of weekend radio shows, including guest coordination, and scriptwriting.
  • Collaborate with hosts, DJs, and other team members to develop engaging content and segments.
  • Operate studio equipment and manage audio levels during live broadcasts to ensure highquality sound.
  • Monitor news and entertainment developments to incorporate timely and relevant content into shows.
  • Coordinate with technical staff to troubleshoot any issues that may arise during broadcasts and ensure seamless onair operations.
  • Contribute creative ideas and innovative approaches to enhance the overall quality of our programming.

What we are looking for from you:

  • Previous experience in radio production, broadcasting, or related fields is highly desirable.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a collaborative team environment.
  • Proficiency in operating studio equipment and audio editing software is a plus.
  • Passion for music, pop culture, and current events.
  • Flexibility to work weekend shifts and adapt to changing schedules.
