We are especially keen to hear from applicants who are representative of the diverse population we serve.

The post holder will work across two community forensic services, one specialising in supporting people with learning disabilities and autism, and the other supporting other people leaving inpatient forensic services.

These community teams cover seven East London localities.

The post holder will offer specialist assessment and psychosocial intervention to forensic service users with historical or current problems with substance use who are either in the community or approaching discharge from our inpatient services.

The post holder will also provide consultation and training to other professionals across the service, and be responsible for the management and clinical oversight of two Drug and Alcohol Service team members working across the community teams.

The post holder will be embedded within the forensic directorate's Drug and Alcohol Service, a multi-disciplinary, specialist team, with access to rich supervision and CPD opportunities.

The post holder will be responsible for providing specialist assessment and psychosocial interventions to service users with histories of or current problematic substance use.

The post holder will also provide consultation to multidisciplinary teams across the forensic service, and to accommodation providers in the community.

In cooperation with the Head of Drug and Alcohol Service, they will also provide leadership to the community parts of the Drug and Alcohol Service, having managerial responsibility for, and clinical oversight of, the two Community Substance Misuse Practitioners in the team.

The post holder will also contribute to the development and implementation of effective governance frameworks, to the audit and evaluation of services, and to the development and delivery of training to a wide range of staff across the service.

The Drug and Alcohol Service is an established team within East London NHS Foundation Trust's forensic directorate. It a small, specialist, close-knit and friendly multidisciplinary team.

Aside from this vacant post, it comprises a Lead Clinical Psychologist (Head of Drug and Alcohol Service), a Senior Substance Misuse Nurse Practitioner, a Substance Misuse Practitioner, an Assistant Psychologist, two Community Substance Misuse Practitioners, and a Peer Support Worker.

The Drug and Alcohol Service is responsible for providing specialist drug and alcohol assessment and treatment across the entire forensic directorate, both in secure inpatient and community settings.

It works closely with multidisciplinary teams across the service and partner organisations to deliver high quality care to service users.

FIND NEL offers specialist forensic consultation and care for forensic service users in the community with learning disabilities and/or autism.

It is a newly established multidisciplinary team, consisting of psychiatry, nursing, social work, and a wide range of therapies staff, including psychology.

The CFS offers support to forensic service users in the community who would not typically have neurodevelopmental disorders, but who predominantly experience severe and enduring mental illness.

Like FIND NEL, it is a large multidisciplinary team consisting of multiple different professionals, who work closely together to provide care to people in the community.
