We work with prestigious clients such as Dept. for Energy Security and Net Zero, DHLUC, DE (NI), DoH (NI) and other NI public and voluntary sector organisations.

We are looking for an Evaluation Consultant to join us to support the continued growth of the team and the delivery of our evaluation work in these key areas.

These projects are likely to cover policy areas including the energy and the environment, homelessness, local development and Levelling Up.

This role will be largely NI based but may involve some work on programmes that support other UK regions.

Working across the social policy space, you will be uniquely positioned to evaluate interventions at the intersection of society's most pressing problems, relating to e.g.

You will be working with an established team of policy specialists, economists, evaluators and researchers to advance the use of key methodologies and innovative techniques.

As part of the Northern Ireland team and wider Public Affairs service, you will be able to contribute to Ipsos' wider knowledge sharing, impact and social value activities.

What will I be doing?

  • Gathering, exploring and analysing primary and secondary quantitative, qualitative and economic evaluation data.
  • Conducting desk research that would include literature and evidence reviews that specifically relate to our client's evaluation questions.
  • Developing client relationships while ensuring projects are delivered to budget and timescale
  • Drafting accessible and concise evaluation reports
  • Presentation of results to clients and stakeholders
  • Developing research tools (e.g. questionnaires, discussion guides)
  • Contributing to evaluation proposals as part of a wider team.

What do I need to bring with me?

  • Solid demonstrable experience of delivering research & evaluation in a commercial environment
  • Proven ability to work well in teams and manage projects to timescale and budgets with limited supervision
  • Expertise in quantitative (and ideally also qualitative approaches) for evaluation problems
  • Experience of using at least one type of statistical software package e.g. Excel and SPSS
  • Curiosity and drive to support a business to move into new areas and experience of contributing to winning evaluation proposals
  • Time management skills and ability to work across multiple projects, prioritising tasks efficiently
  • Strong interpersonal skills including a wish and proven ability to work as a team and 'pitch in' to support colleagues
  • A desire for selfimprovement and learning more about evaluation, statistics and policy
  • Demonstrable entrepreneurial spirit, e.g. enthusiasm and passion for research and delivering high quality work
