Geyer Plant Services is a long established family business, supplying hydraulic and engineering spares and repairs plus we have a farming business, all based in a rural location.
Job description
We seek a Bookkeeper who will play a key part in the day to day running of our family businesses.
Salary depending on experience.
Responsibilities
- Completing bookkeeping tasks on a cloud based bookkeeping system
- Bank reconciliations
- Sales invoicing
- Purchase invoice processing
- Completing quarterly VAT returns
- Reviewing sales and purchase ledger and chasing payments when required
- Preparing payment run and list for director's approval; processing payments to suppliers
- Assisting management with product costing and preparing other financial information as requested
- Providing year end documentation to accountant
- Administrative tasks as required, updating databases, answering phones
Skills and Experience
- Must have prior experience in bookkeeping, proficient in Quickbooks and/or Xero
- Strong numerical accuracy & excellent attention to detail
- Sales/Purchase Ledger Experience is preferred
- Experience working within a busy office is preferred
- IT literate with an advanced working knowledge of Excel and accountancy systems preferred
- Problem solving skills, use own initiative, telephone manner
