WHAT TO EXPECT

The Design Visualisation and Animation department (DVA) is a highly creative and multi-faceted team that provides a high level of visual output including; animations, stills, live, virtual presentation material, filming and motion graphics using industry recognised software and processes.

These creative outputs are used to support Design in achieving gateways, Design Forums and various other high level Design reviews throughout the wider business.

The team also have the responsibility for delivering externally facing assets in the form of Photo-realistic images, Launch animations, Web Configurator, Filming and Graphical Assets.

This role is to join the newly created Configurator team; working as a team to deliver a full CGI web-based configurator for all JLR car lines, whilst also looking at future plans/toolsets to both improve quality and efficiencies.

Some Key Performance Indicators for this role include, but are not limited to:

Support CGI requests for all upcoming car launches.
Support the testing of new tools, technologies and processes to streamline workflow efficiencies and achieve the visual aspirations of the team.
Prepare data sets to the correct layering structures.
Create and develop new materials for new vehicle cycle plans.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

As an accomplished CGI Artist or Configurator Artist, you will need the ability to create 3D CGI Still images in Maya / 3DsMax as well as assisting with data preparation of models for use within Configurator toolsets.

You'll need to work within a team, have the ability to work in a transparent and professional manner, supporting all design disciplines, whilst maintaining a flexible, pro-active approach.

You'll also need the ability to identify potential process or system improvements where applicable and support the Lead with the attendance at relevant Design Studio programme meetings for current programme awareness and involvement.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be self-motivated and be able to work as an individual but will also be required to take on further responsibilities - given to you by to the requirements of the Design Visualisation Manager, Designer, Programme supervisors and Lead Design Visualisation artists.

Further duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Comply with company policy and procedures, particularly with Design Studio and data security.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:

Experience in the creation of Visual Stimulus (e.g. Computer Generated stills/animation, photographs).
Experience of using relevant Design software (Autodesk Maya/3DS Max, VRED, Vray, Unreal, Adobe Suite)
Strong organisation and communication skills
Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred
