CMA Recruitment Group are collaborating with a growing engineering group in Woking, assisting their recruitment process for a Financial Accountant on an interim basis for a period of 6 months.

The Financial Accountant role is a key member of the finance team, initially starting on contract basis with a view of this becoming a becoming permanent.

The position reports directly to the Financial Controller and supports the operating companies operatingout of the UK, the US and Brazil.

This role is instrumental to manage Tax and Statutory Reporting, Balance Sheet Management, Financial Control and Stock Accounting.

What will the Financial Accountant role involve?

  • Supporting the Financial Controller to efficiently close month end process;
  • Deliver high quality and timely monthly reporting to Group and local business;
  • Provides technical competency to ensure compliance with corporate financial policies, legal requirements and GAAP;
  • Actively seek process improvements, creates and implements procedures to improve the internal control environment, streamlined efforts and provide increased transparency of effectiveness of financial controls;
  • Ensures assets are accounted for correctly and safeguarded appropriately. This includes appropriate controls and audits around inventory and fixed assets;
  • Support the Financial Controller to develop and implement processes, systems and policies in line with the Finance Strategic Plan;
  • Assist in the developing of balance sheet budgets and monthly forecasts, financial reconciliations, reports and statutory submissions for UK and USA including Balance Sheet reconciliations and financial audits;
  • Maintain integrity of the General Ledger. Review, analyse and evaluate financial data and information for accuracy, consistency and transparency;
  • Own account reconciliation process to maintain integrity of general ledger and its supporting subsystems. Assess adequacy of reserves and overall financial reporting. Ensure account reconciliations meet standards actively support for the Balance SheetReview process;
  • Establish, monitor and maintain a system of internal controls that safeguards company asset and provides for integrity and propriety of financial transactions and activities;
  • Process CAPEX requests to approval. Conduct followup audits to ensure compliance for all significant capital investments;
  • Take ownership of all statutory and tax submissions in UK and USA including UK VAT returns and ONS, and USA Sales & Use and Property tax;
  • Responsible for the coordination of the yearend audit for the statutory accounts including justification of all balances.
  • Extensive accounting experience with Revenue Recognition, inventory accounting and supporting audits;
  • Previous experience working within engineering or manufacturing business would be beneficial;
  • Previous experience working with Navision and PowerBI is also beneficial.
