You'll be working 3 day's, on average 20 hrs per week over a 2 week fixed rota period consisting of;
-
Week A = Thursday (07:30-14:30), Saturday (07:30-18:30), Sunday (12:00-14:00):


  • Week B = Wednesday (07:30-14:30), Thursday (09:15-1:00), Friday (09:15-1:00)**
    What you'll be doing:As a Catering Assistant you'll be responsible for providing an efficient, high quality and dedicated food and beverage service to our patients, visitors and staff in the hospital.


Currently there are two food and beverage sections in the hospital which are overseen by the Catering Team and then there are the wards themselves.


Main Café - will include the undertaking of simple food preparation tasks including light meals, ensuring food preparation areas and the main consuming area (tables, chair and floor) is kept clean and hygienic at all times.


Kitchen - Will be the preparing and serving breakfasts, lunches, and dinners, ensuring a clean and tidy environment and operating the dishwashing machine to process crockery and cutlery.


Wards - Will need to understand the devised menu's and communicate with patients regarding their menu choices, acting on any dietary requests for additional / alternative food or beverage requirements, in addition, you will need to inform staff of any patient who has refused or not eaten much of their meal for onward management.


General - You'll be involved in audit process processes and ensuring stock levels maintained and on sale stock items visible and replenished.

Catering Assistant's, we are not so hands on with patient care, but we do play big part in
_enhancing the patient experience_ being a
Catering Assistant in our team will see you be adaptable, friendly, polite and caring.


You will have had past experience of working in a similar role perhaps achieving a basic food hygiene certificate, or your experience has come from a customer care background giving first class customer service.
