The Neonatal Service is looking for someone that is interested in a 12 month secondment as ward administrator working within the neonatal unit at City hospital.


NUH neonatal service provides care for some of the most critically unwell infants in the East Midlands Neonatal Operational Delivery Network (EMNODN) as a Level 3 centre, providing neonatal surgery within and beyond network boundaries.

The post holder will be expected to provide clerical and administrative support to the Neonatal ward manager and senior nursing team.


  • To liaise with ward sister / charge nurse and pay services in the completion of unsocial hours payments. Notifying pay services of sickness, maternity, annual and special leave. To compile monthly figures for staff sickness, study etc as required by the Manager
  • To assist the ward sister in ensuring Electronic rosters are performed to the specified timeline, ensuring the ward is adequately staffed within the agreed establishment figures. To ensure that the rosters are locked for submission to pay services, annual leave approved and shift amendments altered as required.
  • To support ward sister / charge nurse in effective collection and inputting of data of ward productivity data

As well as the redevelopment of the Queen's Medical Centre and City Hospital, plans for a new 70 bed NHS rehabilitation facility set to be built on the Stanford Hall Rehabilitation Estate near Loughborough, are currently going through the approvals process.

You will be reporting directly to the Ward Manager and working closely in meeting the needs of the service.

Hours will be 30hrs per week
