Senior Cloud and DevOps Architect

A leading global Travel IT supplier is looking for a Senior Cloud or DevOps Architect to work from the UK or Dubai.

The Cloud Architect will be responsible for providing technical leadership in support of the company's initiatives in cloud computing and automation, with a focus on the design of systems and services that run on cloud platforms.

You will be responsible for the Platform, Operations and Security Products of the Cloud Centre of Excellence.

The Cloud Architect reports into the SaaS hosting organization but will be embedded into Cloud-DevOps to provide architectural leadership and best practices.

You will lead a team of cloud platform engineers.

Requirements:

Drive highly resilient cloud deployment architecture and DevOps tools and technologies across the engineering organization and establish standardization of tools and technology stacks
Deliver Technology Products that can be consumed or enhanced by the development teams.
Design, develop and implement automation and monitoring for different systems and infrastructure

Experience:

At least 5+ years of experience as a cloud architect and 10+ years of experience in AWS / Azure
Must have lead large cloud transformation and migrations programs.
Expert level skills in PaaS technologies
Containers, Docker, Kubernetes and cloud services.
Knowledge of automation tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, Chef, Terraform etc.
Experience in cloudbased security configurations, patching, and troubleshooting
Experience in Cloud Managed services (EKS/ECS, RDS, Serverless etc.)
Strong skills demonstrated in DevOPS & CI-CD. Expert level skills in Git, GitHub products, Jenkins, Artifact Management (Nexus, Artifactory)
Must have experience in developing Infraas code using Terraform or similar
Must have automation skills using Cloud native automation toolset.
Experience in cloudbased security configurations, patching, and troubleshooting

Key Skills:

Design and rollout of multitier, highavailability infrastructure architectures in an Enterprise & cloud environments (AWS, Azure) adhering to DR, Business Continuity and availability best practice.
Knowledge and experience of AWS & Azure commercial models and how to optimize for a given engagement or use case.
Good working knowledge of ITIL processes and procedures.
Excellent English communication capabilities, both written and verbal
Should be an effective communicator that works with all stakeholders across various departments within the company as well as externally with customers, partners, and vendors.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar, with relevant on-the-job technical experience
Advanced certifications on AWS or Azure platforms is desirable but not mandatory
