We are recruiting a Head of Product to oversee and ensure the development of Our Future Health's digital products from conception to launch, and into a cycle of continuous improvement.

In this role you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of Product Managers responsible for building and improving a subset of our products, platforms and services.

You will provide guidance and support, aligning different strands of work and championing best practice.

You will also manage a complex network of stakeholders, ensuring visibility of the team's work and the data, research and analysis driving their decision making and recommended prioritisation.


You will support and work closely with the Director of Product to develop our Product Management community, encouraging a growth mindset and championing Product Management as a discipline across the organisation.

You'll develop the strategy and vision for the products in your area in collaboration with colleagues in different business areas, balancing a desire to deliver best in class digital products and services that engage our audiences and allow us to reach our programme goals, with a pragmatic approach that allows us to stand-up a complex portfolio of products and services over a relatively short time-period.

What you'll be doing:


  • Leading and managing a team of product managers in the development and maintenance of a suite of products, services and platforms that support a particular organisational goal, this could be the recruitment of 5 million participants, or the surfacing of data to health researchers.
  • Developing and articulating a clear vision for the products and services in your area.
  • Driving a pragmatic, usercentred and agile approach to developing products and services.
  • Working with the Director of Product and colleagues in Technology to foster a culture of transparency and trust, building understanding and confidence from stakeholders and ensuring that your expertise can feed into the product roadmaps and plans while maintaining a usercentred approach.
  • Championing accessibility and engagement across the full diversity of UK society, with a focus on reaching seldomheard communities and ensuring that principles of privacy, trust and security are inherent in all that we build.
  • Maintaining excellent relationships with outsourced teams and suppliers.
  • Managing recruitment and onboarding for your team.

We've got a vast amount experience building and scaling big consumer products and working with different kinds of health data.

We're creating something that will be used to transform the prevention, detection and treatment of disease - something that has never been done before on this scale.


Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will be able to demonstrate some of the following skills and experience:

  • Experience leading end-to end-product builds on multiple consumer products with a high degree of complexity and interdependencies.
  • The ability to deal with challenging stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • Experience in using data and insight to develop compelling product visions and roadmaps that align to organisational goals.
  • The ability to work in ambiguity with excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to pivot quickly if an improved solution or way of working requires this.
  • Knowledge and experience of agile ways of working.
  • Excellent and proven people management skills, with the ability to support, nurture and develop members of your team, ensuring that team members have clear objectives and goals, receive regular feedback and that any arising issues with performance are dealt with promptly.
  • Experience working with diverse audiences / user groups.
  • Skilled communicator with the ability to tailor content to different audiences.
  • A tenacious approach with the ability to work at pace whilst maintaining high quality outputs.
  • Proven ability to bring people with you on a journey, unafraid to question your approach and constantly empowering your team to come up with innovative solutions.
  • A pragmatic and decisive approach to cutting through complexity and breaking down the barriers to success for you and your team.
  • Experience of bringing new products to market, or building products using emerging technologies.
  • Experience in service design or working on services that have online and offline touchpoints.
  • Experience in a health domain would be extremely valuab
