PAYROLL ASSISTANT / 12 MONTH FIXED TERM CONTRACT / LEICESTER / UP TO £25,000


Macildowie are pleased to be working with this leading business based close to Leicester City Centre (parking available) on their search for an experienced Payroll Administrator on a 12 month fixed-term contract to cover Maternity leave.

This role will be offered on a full-time (37 hours) per week.


The main purpose for this role is to work within a small payroll team to provide a full payroll service inputting and maintaining payroll and claims records with an understanding of statutory payments.


Your main responsibilities:

  • To assist in the production of several monthly payrolls, including all calculations in relation to pensions, PAYE, National Insurance and statutory payments.
  • To assist with the administration of all claims for extra payments and deductions including travel, subsistence, overtime, and any other payment /deduction duly authorised.
  • Maintain an appropriate salaries and wages record/filing system for audit purposes
  • To assist in the production of statutory and departmental reports
  • To assist in the preparation of all end of year returns to the revenue and pensions organisations.
  • Provide initial information and advice on HR and claims administration processes and procedures, recruitment and selection, and terms and conditions of employment.

Your experience will include:

  • End to end payroll processing knowledge
  • Understanding of current payroll legislation
  • The ability to be able to understand basic payroll calculations
