This is an opportunity to join the UKRI funded Marie Skłodowska-Curie CHrom_Rare Doctoral Network (DN) of nine research centres.

Chrom_Rare consists of 10 research projects, with an overarching aim to improve the understanding of pathomechanisms of monogenic diseases cause by variants in genes that encode chromatin regulators to facilitate development of new therapeutic approaches.


The project to be undertaken at the University of Manchester, involves characterizing stem cells derived models, performing epigenomic and transcriptomics profiling and then use this system to test potential therapeutic compounds.

Some experience in cell culture, working with stem cells and bioinformatics will be highly desirable.


This is a full-time 3-year research position starting in October 2023 and resulting in a PhD degree awarded by The University of Manchester.

The doctoral research includes two funded research secondments of 3 months each hosted by another academic and/or industrial partner located in Europe.
