Description

Howdens are recruiting an experienced Group Leader for our panel production line at our manufacturing site in Runcorn, Cheshire.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring production targets are met with the adherence to the required quality, cost, delivery, people and health and safety metrics to support all of panel production processes.

You will ensure your team is well-directed and will lead them effectively through regular communication, training and development.

The role:

Monitoring and evaluating the performance of your team members and providing feedback and effective training where required
Checking service issues and planning daily production to ensure warehouse demand is satisfied
Maintaining safety within your area of responsibility, complying with safety controls through effective auditing, reviewing SOPs and RAs and conducting accident / near miss investigations when necessary
Analysing KPI and OEE data to identify productivity issues and helping to form solutions and maximise opportunities for improvement
Liaising with the maintenance departments to reduce unplanned machine downtime
Facilitating continuous improvement workshops and making effective decisions based on financial performance, labour, overheads and waste
Monitoring and maintaining 5S standards across the panel production line

What you'll need

Do you have?

Demonstrable experience working in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment with multiple production lines
Experience and knowledge of cutting edge and lean manufacturing techniques
Knowledge and experience of manufacturing KPI's and quality control plans
A proven track record of influencing positive and encouraging team behaviour
Strong problem solving, decision making and change management skills
A professional attitude and can think proactively on your own initiative
The ability to remain calm and under pressure in a deadlinefocused environment and able to adapt to the changing demands of the business

Shift Pattern:

3 shift rotation (1 week days 7am3pm, 1 week nights 11pm7am, 1 week afternoons 3pm11pm)
